Embrace winter. Get up and get out.

I did something different this weekend. I made a concerted effort to stay and play outdoors in the cold. Plus I chose where I thought would be a beautiful winter playground, Waskesiu in Prince Albert National Park, Saskatchewan. I couldn’t have been more right. I had found Saskatchewan’s winter wonderland.

Heavy snow laden pine trees, windy white roads and animal sightings a plenty, Waskesiu  boasts a perfect winter landscape to get outside and reconnect with nature while trying out some fun winter activities.

Explorin’ my own digs – Saskatchewan

I am off on a new adventure, monthly. A great one at that. I am stoked to writing a monthly travel piece (and providing photography) for a great Saskatchewan publication, PINK (http://www.getcompass.ca/home/pink-magazine/latest-issue/.)

The articles will cover towns/cities and areas in Saskatchewan that have something unique to offer. I aim with these pieces not only to draw in newcomers to our great province, but to get people who already live here to explore it.

Hope you enjoy my journey, I am looking forward to it. And, if you have any suggestions on a destination I must visit,  I would love to hear from you!

Here is the first spread on a little town that I have a major crush on – Lumsden.
